4-Chloro-3-nitro-1H-pyrazole is an electrophilic heterocycle that reacts with nucleophiles, such as the amino group of a protein or the hydroxyl group of a sugar. This reaction results in the formation of a 5-membered ring containing a pyrazole ring. 4-Chloro-3-nitro-1H-pyrazole has been shown to be effective in the treatment of skin conditions, such as dandruff and acne, by reducing the production of keratin.
