• Descripción: 2-Chloroisonicotinamide is a fungicide that inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting their ability to make proteins. It has been shown to be effective against pyricularia, a plant disease caused by the fungal species Pyricularia oryzae. 2-Chloroisonicotinamide prevents the synthesis of cell wall proteins in fungi, which leads to rapid cell death. This compound has also been shown to inhibit peroxidase and anti-fungal enzymes in plants. The enzyme that it inhibits is not yet known, but this drug binds tightly to the active site on its cellular target.
