3-Cyclopropyl-5-nitro-1H-pyrazole is a chemical compound with an exocyclic nitro group. It is used in the synthesis of other chemicals. The cyclopropyl ring prevents the substitution at the endocyclic position, while substituents at the 3 and 5 positions are regioselective. The cyclopropyl group also yields high yields in acylation reactions. Nitrosamines are synthesized from 3-cyclopropyl-5-nitro-1H-pyrazole when it reacts with nitric acid and ammonia.
