• Descripción: 6-Chloro-2H-chromene-3-carbaldehyde is a potent inhibitor of monoamine oxidase type A (MAO-A) and can be used as an antidepressant. This compound also inhibits the activity of other enzymes, such as oxidases. 6-Chloro-2H-chromene-3-carbaldehyde binds to the active site of MAO and blocks the access of substrates to this site. In addition, it has been shown that 6CHC has inhibitory activity against a number of oxidative enzymes, such as tyrosinase, dopamine beta hydroxylase, and LPO. The functional groups present in 6CHC are fluorine and C=O.
