Descripción

Cinnolin-4(1H)-one is an amine that inhibits the growth of viruses and bacteria. It is a quinoline derivative with antimicrobial properties, which have been shown in x-ray crystal structures to be due to the nucleophilic nature of the molecule. The stability of cinnolin-4(1H)-one has been shown in reaction solutions, with no degradation or formation of byproducts. Cinnolin-4(1H)-one also has antiviral and antimicrobial activity against herpes simplex virus, as well as other infectious diseases such as inflammatory diseases and bacterial infections.
