5-Chloropyrazin-2-ol is a synthetic chemical compound that contains a chlorine atom and pyrazines. It is an efficient, scalable, and selective coupling agent for amination reactions of organic compounds with heterocyclic substrates containing a 5-chloro substituent. 5-Chloropyrazin-2-ol can be used in the Suzuki reaction to form five membered heterocycles from 2,3,4,5-tetrahydrofuran. The molecule has chemical properties that include electron donation by the chlorine atom and electron withdrawal by the trifluoromethoxy group.
