Descripción:
Cyclohexylbenzene is a catalyst that is used in the oxidation of benzene to phenol. Cyclohexylbenzene reacts with oxygen to form cyclohexanone and cyclohexylbenzene, which are intermediates in the hydroalkylation process. The reaction mechanism for this process involves an initial oxidation of benzene to cyclohexanone followed by a hydrogenation reaction to produce cyclohexylbenzene. The reaction solution is acidic due to the formation of HCl from the hydrogenation.
