2-Chloro-4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridine is a bipyridine that can act as an electron donor. It has been used in kinetic experiments to study proton transfer and electron transfer mechanisms. 2-Chloro-4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridine is a ligand in the synthesis of ruthenium complexes. The substitution of the chloro group with a hydrogen atom results in the synthesis of spacer compounds for use in electron transfer experiments.
