5-Chloro-1-methylindoline-2,3-dione is a boronic acid that has been synthesized and characterized. This compound has a planar molecular geometry, which is unusual for boronic acids. It has been shown to be an efficient and selective catalyst for the Suzuki coupling reaction of alkylboronic acids with aryl halides. It was also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of isatins.
