1-Chloro-N,N,2-trimethylpropenylamine is an organic solvent with a reactive allyl group. It is used in assays to detect the presence of azobenzene. The proton transport properties of this substance have been studied by intramolecular hydrogen transfer and chloride ion exchange. The nature of the allyl group has been determined by NMR spectroscopy and postulated to be a phosphorus oxychloride derivative.
