- Benzoic Acid, 2-(Chlorosulfonyl)-
2-(Chlorosulfonyl)benzoicacid is a benzoimidazole derivative that belongs to the class of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) antagonists. It is used in the treatment of metabolic disorders and autoimmune diseases. 2-(Chlorosulfonyl)benzoicacid has been shown to decrease the rate of tumor growth and increase survival rates in mice with cancer. This drug also inhibits inflammatory responses, including those induced by collagen-induced arthritis, through its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
