Descripción:
5-Chloro-6-methylpyrimidin-4(3H)-one is a pyrimidine derivative that is used as a reagent for dehydrohalogenation. It reacts with carboxylic acids to form acid esters and with 1-4c alkyl groups to form methylates. This product is used in the synthesis of herbicides, and it has been shown to inhibit the growth of pigweed in fields and bulrush in ponds. 5-Chloro-6-methylpyrimidin-4(3H)-one can also be used as a reactant for formamidine.
