5-Chloro-3-cyanopyridine is a PPAR ligand that has shown to be a potent insulin secretagogue and glucose level regulator in animal models. This compound binds to the PPAR alpha, beta/delta, and gamma subtypes with high affinity and selectivity. 5-Chloro-3-cyanopyridine has been found to have a low molecular weight and tunable structure that may allow for optimization of the drug's pharmacological properties. The structural modification of 5-chloro-3-cyanopyridine may lead to improved pharmacokinetics, bioavailability, or metabolic stability.
