Cis-chlordane is a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) analogue and is an inorganic chemical that has been used as a sample preparation reagent for chromatographic separation. It has also been used in the production of fatty acids and human serum albumin. Cis-chlordane can be detected using a logistic regression analysis, which is used to detect matrix effects. A matrix effect occurs when the concentration of one substance alters the concentration of another substance in a sample because they are both present. The presence of cis-chlordane may be detected by measuring its high values in diphenyl ethers or chlorine atoms on gas chromatography.
