Descripción:1-Chloro-2-(1-chloroethyl)benzene is an antibacterial agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the heme moiety in the cytochrome b5 reductase enzyme. It has been shown to be active against a number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria in experimental assays, but not against acid-fast bacteria. 1-Chloro-2-(1-chloroethyl)benzene has been shown to have haemolytic effects on blood cells, which can lead to clotting parameters and changes in sediments. 1-Chloro-2-(1-chloroethyl)benzene also has a low toxicity for laboratory animals, but it is not yet known how it affects biochemical processes.
