Descripción:L-Cysteine sulfinic acid is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of taurine to produce cysteine, which is essential for the synthesis of proteins. It also has a number of other functions, including detoxification and antioxidant activity. L-Cysteine sulfinic acid has been shown to have antiviral properties in a model system using human cells infected with HIV. The enzyme is also active against oxidative injury caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) and metal chelate toxicity. L-Cysteine sulfinic acid can be used as a biochemical marker for the presence of infectious diseases due to its high specificity for these types of pathogens.
