5-Chloro-2-methoxyphenylthiourea is a fluorescent protein that has been shown to have a high affinity for the human voltage-gated potassium channel. It is a potentiator of this channel, which leads to an increased motility in neurons. This protein has also been shown to have no fluorescence when the correctors are mutated, suggesting that it is not just a fluorophore but also serves as an important part of the fluorescence cascade. 5-Chloro-2-methoxyphenylthiourea is fluorescent and can be used as a potentiator of potassium channels.
