Descripción:CLP-290 is a benzodiazepine receptor ligand that has been shown to be effective in animal models of ventral tegmental area function. CLP-290 is an agonist at the benzodiazepine receptor, which is a G protein-coupled receptor that regulates neuronal function and modulates anxiety. This drug has been shown to have both inhibitory and excitatory effects on neurons in the ventral tegmental area, depending on the dosage. CLP-290 also binds to benzodiazepine receptors on glial cells, which are immune cells that support neurons in the central nervous system. CLP-290 may be useful for treating neonatal or adult patients with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
