3-Chloro-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid (3CmPyCA) is a type of pyrazole derivative that was developed as an antibacterial agent. 3CmPyCA inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the active site of the enzyme ubiquitin ligase and inhibiting its function. This results in an accumulation of ubiquitinated proteins, which are degraded by the proteasome. 3CmPyCA has shown antibacterial activity against diverse bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The effective dose for 3CmPyCA is 1 mM for S. pneumoniae and 2 mM for P. aeruginosa.
