Chroman-5-amine is a small molecule that binds to the 5HT4 receptor and inhibits oxalate release. It has been shown to be effective in treating neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and dementia. Chroman-5-amine also has demonstrated efficacy in treating schizophrenia and hyperactivity disorder. Chroman-5-amine is an antagonist of the 5HT4 receptor, which is involved in regulating serotonin release from the presynaptic neuron. This inhibition leads to decreased levels of serotonin in the brain.
