• Descripción: 2-Chloro-2-ethoxyacetyl chloride is a chlorinated aldehyde that can be used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It can be prepared by the reaction of acetyl chloride with an alcohol or phenol, or from the reaction of ethylene oxide and chlorine. 2-Chloro-2-ethoxyacetyl chloride reacts with phosphorus pentachloride to form phosphonium salts, which are intermediates for the synthesis of pyrazolines. This compound has also been used as a reagent for the Wittig reaction and for the synthesis of hydroxylamine derivatives. Thermolysis of this aldehyde leads to imines, which are useful intermediates in organic synthesis. 2-Chloro-2-ethoxyacetyl chloride also reacts with hydroxylamine to form chlorohydrin derivatives that are electron rich, making them useful precursors in organic synthesis.
