It is used for detection of the presence of phospholipase A2 in biological samples, such as blood, urine, and tissue, by use of chemiluminescence or bioluminescence. 6-Chloro-3-indoxyl choline phosphate is a chromogenic substrate that is used to detect the presence of phospholipase A2 in samples by staining with a specific dye. 6-Chloro-3-indoxyl choline phosphate is also a fluorogenic substrate that can be used to detect the presence of phospholipase A2 in samples by fluorescence.
