Descripción:Castasterone is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) sample preparation reagent. It is a cationic surfactant that interacts with the hydrophobic regions of DNA to form hydrogen bonds and thus extract it from the aqueous phase into the organic phase. Castasterone has been shown to have a matrix effect, which may be due to its transport properties. Castasterone has also been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cells by interacting with enzymes and altering their activities. This inhibition may be due to the ability of castasterone to bind with and inactivate cation channels in these cells.
