Descripción:Cefteram pivoxil is an oral prodrug that is converted to the active form, ceftriaxone, in vivo. It is used for the treatment of bacterial infections and has anti-inflammatory properties. Cefteram pivoxil possesses a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including penicillinase-producing strains such as Staphylococcus aureus and Enterobacter spp., as well as enterococci and streptococci. This drug also shows good efficacy against E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Citrobacter spp., Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, H. influenzae, and Bacteroides fragilis. As an oral cephalosporin antibiotic, cefteram pivoxil has been shown to be safe for use in children with inflammatory bowel disease or cystic fibrosis. Cefteram pivox
