Descripción

Cephapirin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat tissue infections. It is the cephalosporin of first choice for the treatment of septicemia and soft tissue infection. Cephapirin binds to the penicillin-binding proteins on bacterial cell walls and inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis. Cephapirin has been shown to be active against a wide variety of bacteria, including those that are resistant to other antimicrobial agents. It has also been shown to be effective in treating infectious diseases such as pneumonia, meningitis, and osteomyelitis.
