Descripción:4'-Chloroacetanilide is a white, crystalline solid. It is soluble in water and has low solubility in organic solvents such as benzene, toluene, and chloroform. It also exhibits low volatility and a melting point of 148-150 degrees Celsius. 4'-Chloroacetanilide can be prepared by the reaction of acetanilide with sodium hypochlorite in the presence of an acid catalyst. The compound has been shown to have acute toxicities and hydrogen bonding interactions with proteins. The compound's biochemical properties include its ability to inhibit bacterial growth, which may be due to its inhibition of protein synthesis. 4'-Chloroacetanilide is used as a pharmaceutical preparation for the treatment of parasitic infections that are resistant to other drugs.
