It has a reaction time of approximately 1 minute and is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform. 2-(1-Chloroethyl)-anthracene reacts with amines to form a number of heterocyclic amines and it binds to boronic acids to produce carboxylic acid compounds. This chemical also contains impurities such as nitro groups and phenoxy groups that can be removed by using heterocyclic synthons.
