5-Chloro-N-cyclohexylpentanamide is a tetrazole compound that can be used as an environmental pollutant, reagent, and chloride. It has been shown to form chloride in the environment by reacting with phosphorus pentachloride. 5-Chloro-N-cyclohexylpentanamide also forms silicon in the environment by reacting with silicon dioxide. This chemical can catalyze reactions between potassium hydroxide and trimethyl cyclohexanol, acylation reactions between cyclohexanol and acetic acid, or azide formation from ammonia and nitrous oxide. 5-Chloro-N-cyclohexylpentanamide can also be used for the synthesis of amides from ammonia and acetic acid.
