Cinnabarinic acid is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) reagent that is used to amplify DNA. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of bowel disease, with an optimum concentration of 1 mmol/L. Cinnabarinic acid works by inhibiting the action of glutamate, which inhibits neuronal death and inflammatory bowel disease. This active form also prevents the degradation of picolinic acid by inhibiting the enzyme activity ido1. Cinnabarinic acid is also a pharmacological agent that can be used for the treatment of HIV infection or autoimmune diseases.
