Clofedanol hydrochloride is a water-soluble drug that is used to treat bowel diseases. Clofedanol hydrochloride is an H2 antagonist, which means it blocks the production of stomach acid by inhibiting the release of histamine. It is also a proton pump inhibitor, which inhibits the secretion of acid by parietal cells in the stomach. This drug can be used for the treatment of symptoms associated with chronic or acute inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, such as diarrhea and abdominal pain.
