Clomiphene is a drug that is used to treat infertility in women. It stimulates follicular growth and increases the production of sex hormones, such as estradiol. Clomiphene has long-term efficacy and can be used for patients with a variety of conditions, including infectious diseases and cancer. Clomiphene has been shown to inhibit leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) in vitro, which may reduce the risk of ovarian cancer. The most common side effects are nausea and vomiting, but these symptoms usually disappear after the first few cycles of treatment.
