Información del producto
- 2-Chlor-3-methoxypyrazin
- Pyrazine, 2-Chloro-3-Methoxy-
2-Chloro-3-methoxy pyrazine is a pheromone that is used in the study of social insects. This chemical was originally discovered by the Japanese scientist, Dr. Minoru Uchiyama, and has been shown to be one of the most potent insect pheromones known. 2-Chloro-3-methoxy pyrazine is found in the mandibular glands of Solenopsis invicta (fire ants) and can be used to control their population size. It has also been shown to be a good candidate for use as a bait or pesticide because it attracts worker ants and makes them more vulnerable to other ant poisons or pesticides. The discovery of this chemical was made through synthetic chemistry, bioassay, and electroantennogram studies.
2-Chloro-3-methoxy pyrazine is an odorless white solid with a boiling point of 190°C at 0.1 mm
