It has been shown to have cytostatic effects in sarcoma cells and pain-relieving properties in animal models. 3-Chlorobenzylamine inhibits the replication of HIV, herpes virus, and adenosine receptor antagonists. This drug has also been found to be an effective anticancer agent. 3-Chlorobenzylamine is structurally similar to other anticancer agents such as methotrexate, mercaptopurine, and pyrimidine analogs.
