Descripción:2-Chloronicotinic acid is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of phosphorus compounds. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and has a pungent odor. 2-Chloronicotinic acid can be found in wastewater treatment, as it binds strongly to phosphorus compounds. It also participates in the Suzuki coupling reaction with various organometallic catalysts, such as palladium and nickel, to produce amides and n-oxides. 2-Chloronicotinic acid inhibits the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other bacteria by binding to the bacterial ribosome and inhibiting protein synthesis. 2-Chloronicotinic acid has been shown to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, which may be due to its ability to bind nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) by hydrogen bonding at their active site.
