4-Chloroquinazoline is a chemical compound that is an amine with a nitro group. It inhibits the growth of cells by inhibiting epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling, which may be due to inhibition of the EGFR kinase activity or the EGFR phosphorylation. 4-Chloroquinazoline has been shown to inhibit proliferation of hepg2 cell lines in vitro and in vivo. The drug also has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of other cancer cells, such as those from breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer and pancreatic cancer, through inhibition of EGFR kinase activity or phosphorylation.
