Descripción:Cupric benzoate monohydrate is a copper salt that has antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the polyamide in the bacterial cell wall, which disrupts the function of enzymes needed for cell division. Cupric benzoate monohydrate also binds to proteins and inhibits protein synthesis. This compound is biocompatible and can be used as an alternative to silver sulfadiazine cream for burns as it does not cause allergic reactions.
