Información del producto
- Quinoxaline, 2-chloro-
- NSC 43553
2-Chloroquinoxaline is a nucleophilic compound that reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce chlorine gas and chloride. The reaction can be used to measure the concentration of hydrochloric acid in water. 2-Chloroquinoxaline has been shown to react with nucleophiles such as ammonia, amines, and alkyl halides by displacement of chlorine atoms from the ring. The second-order rate constant for this reaction is 7 × 10 M/sec. 2-Chloroquinoxaline has also been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes. This binding prevents the formation of an enzyme-inhibitor complex with the enzyme that is required for cell division.
