Descripción

Cyclohexyl phenyl ketone is a cyclic organic compound that is used as a starting material for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and other compounds. It has been used in the synthesis of film-forming polymers, which are used in the production of contact lenses, surgical dressings, and other products. Cyclohexyl phenyl ketone is also used to make a number of pharmaceuticals including anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics. Cyclohexyl phenyl ketone is synthesized from diethyl ketomalonate and chlorine under light exposure. The yield of this reaction can be increased by adding metal hydroxides to the reaction mixture.
