Descripción:Clocortolone caproate is a crystalline compound that belongs to the class of steroid hormones. It has a high melting point, and does not dissolve in water. Clocortolone caproate is available commercially as an oil solution. This preparation is used in diagnostic tests, pharmaceutical preparations, and as an active substance in hormone therapy. Clocortolone caproate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases. The drug also inhibits the formation of inflammatory prostaglandins by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX), which converts arachidonic acid into prostaglandins.
