• Descripción: 6-Aminohexanol is a glycosyl phosphorylated amino alcohol that is an important intermediate in organic chemistry. It has been used to synthesize the capsular polysaccharide of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B. This compound has tetrameric structure and was found to be stereoselective, with the alpha-isomer being more active than the beta-isomer. 6-Aminohexanol also has an anti-inflammatory effect, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. The molecular mechanism for this inhibition is not clear yet.
