Descripción:
Cyclo(L-Val-L-Val) is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that has been shown to be active against bacteria, fungi, and some viruses. Cyclo(L-Val-L-Val) was discovered in the marine sponge Luffariella variabilis. The nitrogen atoms are thought to contribute to its activity as they can form hydrogen bonds with various functional groups on the surface of bacteria. This drug has been shown to have clinical development potential, such as in the treatment of bacterial infections of the heart valves and muscles. Further research is needed to determine its potential for use in vivo.
