Descripción:2-(Chloromethyl)anthraquinone is an inhibitor of p21, a protein that regulates cell cycle progression. It has been shown to reduce the rate of electron flow in the electron transport chain. 2-(Chloromethyl)anthraquinone has also shown antiradical activity, which may be due to its ability to scavenge anion radicals and hydroxyl radicals or its linker-molecule interactions with other molecules. The molecular target for 2-(chloromethyl)anthraquinone is not known.
