Chroman-4-ylamine is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that was shown to inhibit the catalytic activity of protein tyrosine kinases in vitro. Chroman-4-ylamine has been shown to reduce inflammatory pain in mice by inhibiting the production of proinflammatory cytokines and prostaglandins. This drug also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of interleukin 1β and tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) in vitro. The preparative method for chroman-4-ylamine involves a hydrogenation reaction with palladium on carbon, followed by hydrolysis with sodium hydroxide, which is then recrystallized from ethanol and water.
