Descripción:Copper(II) hydroxide is a reactive metal that has been shown to be an effective catalyst for many reactions. It is used as a solid catalyst in the production of sodium carbonate, which can be used in the removal of sulfur dioxide from coal-burning power plants. The reaction mechanism of copper(II) hydroxide includes the formation of hydrogen fluoride and diazonium salt, and is considered to be a kinetic process. Copper(II) hydroxide is also present in high concentrations in some regions and can act as a fertilizer or pesticide. Copper(II) hydroxide has been shown to react with phosphotungstic acid, forming brownish-red precipitates that are visually identifiable.
