• Descripción: 3-Cyanocoumarin is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to inhibit the activity of 3-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (3-MTHFR) and dihydropteroate synthase, which are enzymes that catalyze the synthesis of folate derivatives. 3-Cyanocoumarin also inhibits protein kinases and other enzymes involved in hematopoiesis. The inhibition of these enzymes is related to its ability to bind to the active site with a high affinity. In addition, 3-Cyanocoumarin has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on cancer cells by binding to DNA and affecting transcriptional processes. This compound is not toxic at neutral pH but becomes more toxic as the pH increases or decreases.
