2-Chloro-3,5-dibromopyridine (2C3DBP) is a nonsteroidal estrogen that can bind to estrogen receptors. It has been shown to have clinical properties in vivo, such as the prevention of breast cancer and the treatment of inflammatory diseases. 2C3DBP has been shown to inhibit hematopoietic growth in vitro and may be used for the treatment of anemia. 2C3DBP is a fluorescent compound with optical properties that are sensitive to pH changes. This property makes it useful for studying cellular processes that involve acidic environments, such as transcriptional regulation and protein localization.
