2-Chloro-4-iodobenzoic acid is an aryl halide that can be used as a reagent to convert primary alcohols to alkyl iodides. It is a reactive chemical with catalytic properties. 2-Chloro-4-iodobenzoic acid has been shown to selectively form chloromethyloxiranes from allylic alcohols, which are useful in the synthesis of nanoparticles.
