Capecitabine-D11 is a quaternary ammonium salt that is used as an oral prodrug for capecitabine. Capecitabine-D11 has been shown to be effective in reducing the concentration of capecitabine in wastewater when it is treated with phase chromatography and hydrophilic interaction chromatography. Capecitabine-D11 binds to proteins and has a high affinity for hematocrit, which can be used to measure the concentration of capecitabine in human blood samples. The matrix effect can be evaluated using the spectrometer. Capecitabine-D11 has been validated using assays that were performed on wastewater samples.
