This drug can be used in adults to prevent or delay the onset of cardiovascular disease. 7-Chloropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine binds with high affinity to human red blood cells and has been shown to be effective in reducing carbon tetrachloride-induced damage in red blood cells. The drug also interacts with other additives, such as plasma glucose, which may affect its effectiveness. 7-Chloropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine has a short half life and interacts with many drugs that are metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes, so it should not be administered concurrently with these drugs.
