3-Chlorophenylboronic acid is an organic compound that has been used as a starting material in the synthesis of a number of biologically active compounds. It is also used in the Suzuki coupling reaction, which is a chemical reaction between an organoboron compound and a terminal alkyne or aryl halide. This reaction is performed in the presence of palladium catalyst and base to produce biaryl compounds. 3-Chlorophenylboronic acid can be used to study epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptors by using it as an analog for EGF ligands.
